How to sell anything online

Sell from your own store to keep more of each sale and every customer, and add a marketplace or social shop when you need buyers who are already shopping. Each guide compares the fees for one product or channel and works out what you keep.

Frequently asked questions

What is the easiest way to sell online?
List on a marketplace like Etsy, eBay or Depop if you have a few items and want buyers fast. If you're building a brand, put up your own store so you keep more of each sale and the customer's details, then add marketplaces for reach.
Is it cheaper to sell on my own website or on a marketplace?
Your own site, per sale: you pay card processing and your store's plan, where marketplaces add their own commission on top. The trade-off is traffic. A marketplace brings shoppers; your own store needs ads, social posts or search to bring them.
